MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF PRIMARY YEARS (OGC)

I am delighted to welcome you to the primary division of the Oberoi International School.

The primary school is a modern and forward-looking division of the school with around 600 students, from Grade 1 to Grade 5. It is a happy place where dedicated, professional teachers encourage our children to do their best in their academic studies and to enjoy everything that is on offer. There is a vibrant and supportive atmosphere here which makes it easy to share challenges. Boys and girls are encouraged to be ambitious in their goals and to work hard to achieve them; however, we make sure there is also plenty of time to play and have fun. Our children come from many cultural and religious backgrounds, forming a very happy, inclusive and an increasingly internationally minded student and parent community.

We are a World School offering the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate and, as such, we promote international awareness in our young people with emphasis on the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to participate in an increasingly global society.

Our belief in the primary school rests in our strong sense of family and community, in the values we celebrate, in our commitment to realising the potential of our children, and in providing a balanced education that addresses the academic, social, emotional, and physical aspects of our students’ lives.

MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF PRIMARY YEARS (JVLR)

Welcome to Oberoi International School - JVLR Campus.

Firstly to parents, thank you for choosing and trusting in OIS. Secondly, to any visitors to this school site, we would like to welcome you to OIS, and we hope that you take time to discover more about our school.

Currently, we have approximately 240 students aged from Nursery to Grade 4. For the 2018-19 academic year, we are looking at a steady increase in our student population. Our faculty is made up of 15 homeroom teachers, each supported by a full time assistant teacher, as well as 11 single subject teachers.

Each student learns 'big ideas' through the lens of different subjects, which include Maths, Social Studies, Science, Personal, Social and Physical Education, The Arts (Music and Visual Arts), and Languages (English, Hindi, French and Spanish, with the latter two languages being offered in Grades 3-5)

As we embark on a journey of being new in all areas of school, a recent survey showed that a high number of our JVLR parents were indeed happy with how their child has settled into the new campus. We are discovering that through our various forms of communication, families feel that their children are safe, happy and cared for at OIS - JVLR.

At OIS - JVLR, we may be new but we are firmly guided by a "one school, two campuses" vision. Through continuous and integrated planning, teaching and assessment, we aim to extend, support and encourage our students to reach their fullest potential. For us to meet this aim, we rely on a strong home-school partnership, as this is the greatest guarantor of student success.
